Description

FAA Class 3 Exams have medical requirements that are curated to private pilots and are generally less stringent compared to Class 1 or Class 2 exams. However, they still ensure that pilots meet the necessary health standards for their role as a private pilot. The Class 3 FAA medical exam generally includes evaluation of a pilot's medical history, physical health, mental health, a drug and alcohol screening, and may include additional evaluations to ensure they are medically fit to safely operate private aircraft for personal or recreational purposes.

Typically, Class 3 medical certificates are valid for five years for pilots who are under 40 years of age, and two years for pilots who are over 40 years of age. The Class 3 FAA medical exam is mandatory for pilots who operate private aircraft for personal or recreational purposes. The exam is designed to ensure that pilots are medically fit to safely operate private aircraft and enjoy their personal or recreational flying activities.
