DOT drug screens are urine specimen tests most commonly performed when employers are in the process of hiring potential new employees, as part of a DOT physical exam or a return-to-duty exam, randomly throughout an employees career, or after an accident has occurred.
A regulated DOT drug screening will test for specific specimens. Depending on which panels of screenings are opted for, the specimens being tested may differ.
Standard 5-panel drug screens will typically test for marijuana, cocaine, opiates – opium and codeine derivatives, amphetamines and methamphetamines and phencyclidine (PCP).
