Maine

The state of Maine is located in the Northeast quadrant of the United States. Its city Eastport, happens to be the most Eastern city in the country. Something else many people may not realize is that Maine is the only state that consists of one syllable, and it's the only state that shares a border with only one other state.¹

When it comes to OSHA in Maine, it operates an OSHA-approved State Plan covering only state and local government workers, while private sector employers and their workers are covered by Federal OSHA. The Maine State Plan Office can be found in Augusta, while there are two Federal OSHA offices located in Augusta and Bangor.³ When it comes to on-site safety and health, consultants can recognize safety hazards, sample for air and noise exposures, reduce/eliminate hazards, develop and improve a safety program, assure compliance with OSHA regulations, and identify any training needs.² Learn more about Maine OSHA here.
