A unique fact that many people may not realize about New Hampshire is that it's the home of the first potato to ever be planted in the United States; this event took place back in 1719 in the Londonderry Common Field.3 Today, while potatoes aren't among the top mass-produced crops in the state, apples, sweet corn and hay made the cut.1
When it comes to occupational safety and health administration, New Hampshire was actually one of the first states to recognize the importance of having legislation to protect safety and health of the workforce.2 Currently, the state follows federal regulations.
