South Carolina is well-known for its southeastern coastline along with it's marsh-like sea islands.1 One of the islands, John's Island, has a massive oak tree named Angel Oak has that been around for more than 400 years.2 This means that this tree has survived multiple floods, earthquakes and even hurricanes. When it comes to occupational safety and health administration in South Carolina, it’s one of twenty-two states/territories that have OSHA-approved State Plans that covers private and state and local government workplaces with some exceptions.3 SC OSHA’s website features a tip of the week.4 An example of one of their tips reads, “Encourage workers to drink water frequently in heat.” Learn more about SC OSHA here.
