Vermont

Vermont's name is derived from the French phrase "vert mont," translating to "green mountain."¹ It got this name from its large amount of forestry. Although it may be the second smallest state by population, and the sixth smallest by area, Vermont happens to be the leading producer of maple syrup as of 2019.³

When it comes to occupational safety and health administration in Vermont, it’s one of twenty-two states/territories that have OSHA-approved State Plans that covers private and state and local government workplaces, with the exception of offshore maritime employment, USPS mail operations workers and facilities, and working conditions of aircraft cabin crew members on-board aircraft in operation.² Learn more about VOSHA here.
